ELI LILLY SUPPORTS VOLUNTEER EFFORTS
$500 to be awarded to medallion winners' volunteer organizations
Since Lilly signed on as a Jefferson Awards Champion in January 2008, more than 50 employees have been recognized for their extraordinary service to others and the community at large.
To further support these volunteer efforts, the Lilly Foundation will each month award a $500 grant to the Jefferson Award medallion winner's organization. (Past medallion winners will be included as well.) The person selected each March to represent Lilly at the annual Washington, D.C. national awards ceremony will receive an additional $500 for his or her group.
"So many Lilly employees give freely of their time and energy to advance causes they believe in," says Lilly Foundation President Rob Smith. "As our volunteers work tirelessly to build healthier communities, we're glad to lend financial support to their efforts through the Jefferson Award grant program."
